Brand Identity
Creative Direction Website
The Prewitt is a fine dining restaurant known for its moody atmosphere, exposed brick, and unmistakable 1920s-inspired aesthetic. The goal was to refine the brand’s identity and digital presence to fully reflect the experience of the space — elevated, timeless, and unforgettable.
This project required translating a highly sensory, in-person environment with a rich history into a cohesive brand voice and visual system that felt intentional rather than themed.
Process
While The Prewitt’s physical space was rich with character and atmosphere, the brand lacked cohesion across its visual identity and website. The existing presence didn’t fully capture the sophistication, warmth, or narrative depth of the dining experience.
The challenge was to create a brand system that felt immersive and refined, without leaning into cliché or pastiche.
Challenge
Rather than starting with visuals alone, I approached the project by defining the feeling The Prewitt should evoke—intimate, confident, and transportive.
Key considerations included:
Translating physical atmosphere into digital experience
Developing a brand voice that felt poetic, grounded, and confident
Creating visual restraint so the space and food remained the hero
Every design and messaging decision was filtered through the question:
“Does this feel like the restaurant?”

Role
solution
The updated brand and website created a stronger sense of identity and cohesion, allowing The Prewitt to show up digitally with the same confidence and character it holds in person. The work positioned the restaurant as a destination — memorable, elevated, and unmistakably itself.
outcome
The resulting brand system paired a moody, timeless visual palette with refined typography and intentional spacing. The website was redesigned to guide visitors through the experience of The Prewitt—setting expectations before guests ever walked through the door.
Brand voice and visual elements were aligned to support storytelling, not decoration.
